Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Tuesday (August 3) sealed 22 buildings in Sector E-11, due to the developers’ failure to follow building bylaws, news sources reported. It is expected that in the coming days, more buildings will be sealed after the completion of the necessary anti-encroachment measures. The buildings sealed were located in and around the E-11 area. The owners are asked to submit their written reply to the show causes notices issued a few days back.

Furthermore, authorities have stated that the said sector is outside the legal purview of the CDA and building control authority because of the legal protection afforded by former President Ayub Khan’s directives. The authorities, however, have presented a summary to the cabinet to withdraw the exemption status in order to fully execute the Islamabad master plan in the region.
