Lahore: While chairing a meeting, the Minister for Housing and Urban Development Mian Mahmood-ur-Rasheed announced that the by-laws of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) will be amended, a news source reported. This will be done to address the concern of developers, builders and the public, to make the laws less complex.

The minister was of the view that the complicated nature of these regulations created difficulties for the public, specifically for developers. These amendments will provide builders respite from such difficulties, and will hopefully help the construction sector prosper.
During the meeting, Rasheed reviewed proposed draft amendments to the LDA by-laws concerning private housing schemes. Members present at the meeting deliberated the proposed amendments in the presence of builders and developers who expressed their opinions and concerns.

Rasheed ordered the concerned authorities to take into account the genuine demands of the builders and developers, and take them into consideration when officially amending the by-laws.
