Lahore: Lahore Development Authority (LDA)’s Governing Body has approved a budget of PKR 57.97 billion for the authority for 2017-18, according to a news source. LDA’s Urban Development Wing will get PKR 38.55 billion, out of which PKR 28.58 billion will be spent on development projects.
The major development projects which were identified in the press release include construction of various buildings, setting up an Integrated Computerised System for LDA, displacement of fruit and vegetable market to Kot Lakhpat, preparation of Lahore Division’s masterplan and construction of overhead bridges for pedestrians in different parts of the city.
Other projects on LDA’s priority list include initiation of new development schemes, construction of Twin Towers on Jail Road, construction of underpasses on Shahkam Chowk and Defence Road, construction of shopping centre and food court in Johar Town, development of Orange Line Metro Train project, and construction of a sports complex.
