Islamabad: Federal Minister for Planning Asad Umar revealed that the government has earmarked PKR 87 billion from the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) for China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects in Fiscal Year (FY) 2021-22, according to sources.

The following are specifics regarding the budgeted projects:
- PKR 42 billion has been kept aside for the western route
- PKR 900 billion is approved for Federal PSDP
- PKR 244 billion will be used for motorways, highways, airport, railway projects, and district roads.
- PKR 7 billion will be spent on the provision of necessities and infrastructure of Special Economic Zones (SEZs) at Dhabeji, Bostan, Rashakai, and Faisalabad.
Furthermore, it was stated that 3,261 km of new roads are scheduled to be built. Some of the most prominent ones include:
- Eastbay Expressway Gwadar, PKR 2.1 billion
- Khyber Pass Economic Corridor Project, PKR 8.5 billion
- Dualization and improvement of existing 210 km long N-50-Yarik-Sagu-Zhob road, PKR 1.6 billion
- Construction of 168 km M-8 Hoshab-Awaran-Khuzdar (section 2), PKR 1.5 billion
- Widening and improvement of Chitral-Booni-Mastuj-Shandur road, PKR 2 billion
