Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has said that the development of ex-Fata and underdeveloped areas of Balochistan is on the government’s priority list for the Budget 2019-20, according to a news source. Khan pledged to develop these areas at par with other parts of the country.

Sharing further details on the plan, the PM said that the government will improve the health and education sectors, law and security conditions, and focus on the provision of civic facilities.
Khan also received a briefing on the status of development projects in ex-FATA and tribal areas from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Governor Shah Farman and KP Chief Minister Mehmood Khan. Prime Minster’s Special Assistant on Information Firdous Ashiq Awan, Minster for Communications and Portal Services Murad Saeed, and Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Political Affairs Naeemul Haq also attended this meeting.

Addressing the meeting members, PM Khan said that the government is looking to cut down its expenditures in the soon-to-be-announced budget for the fiscal year 2019-20. The money saved will instead be spent on the development of underdeveloped areas.
