Islamabad: The Minister of State for Revenue has announced that the government has reserved funds worth PKR 152 billion for the development of the recently merged tribal areas of FATA, according to a news source. He shared this information while delivering the budget speech in the National Assembly yesterday.

The allocated funds also include expenditures for projects included in the ten-year development plan. The minister further announced that PKR 11 billion has been reserved for development projects in Balochistan. These projects include schemes for farmers, where the government will provide insurance facilities to small farmers in case their yield experiences unfortunate situations. For this purpose, revenue worth PKR 2.5 billion will be reserved.

The government has also allocated funds for projects launched under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). These include the agriculture sector, special economic zones, industrial sectors, and Pakistan Railways’ Main Line-1 project.

In addition, the government plans to allocate PKR 45.5 billion for a total of 9 development projects in Karachi.
