Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Chief Minister Pervez Khattak reiterated that the Bus Rapid Transit project is to be completed by April 30, 2018, according to a news source. Khattak expressed satisfaction over work pace and indicated that an announcement about the completion of BTR reach-1 could be expected soon.
He made these statements during a meeting of the KP Cabinet held on Thursday. He further added that the costs of this project had been transparent throughout and the total expenditure had been shared with the general public. Khattak maintained that only PKR 30 billion had been spent on the construction of the project, however, other expenditures had ballooned the cost. Despite this, the BRT has been stated to be much less costly than other similar transport projects. It was also stated that the construction debris would be removed soon to ensure smooth traffic flow.
