A few days after Citi Housing allotted over 4,000 plots to file owners in its Samundri Road project, Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) realized that the project is illegal. According to news sources, deputy director, Town Planning and his team raided the site and stopped the development work. Furthermore, the Deputy Collector Faisalabad was also directed that registration of property transfer in Citi Housing should immediately be stopped.
It didn’t end, there as senior officials from Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa), Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (Fesco) and the Sui Gas Department were also asked to not allow water, electricity and Sui Gas connections to be established for Citi Housing’s Samundri Road project. FDA has also warned the public to protect their investment by staying away from buying land here. That is one side of the picture. The other side is, however, less gloomy.
Allotment procedure of about 95% plots offered by Citi Housing was completed in less than one week. People literally spent several hours in the heat just to make sure that they don’t fail to acquire a plot against the file they own. The tremendous response received for Citi Housing Faisalabad plots speaks volume about the trust developer enjoys in Faisalabad. The fast track development of the project as well as the fact that Citi Housing has delivered their previous projects well before the promised time and per the committed standards is the sole reason why people here trust the brand name.
It is very likely that that the Samundri Road project will also be completed in one year while the developer’s instalment plan spans three years. Ideally, it won’t harm the developer to slow the work pace but this doesn’t seem to be part of their plan. Meanwhile, Citi Housing is also looking to launch Citi Housing Phase I Extension on Sargodha Road to accommodate the remaining file owners, estimated to be about 2000 in number.
FDA, on the other hand, has had a project pending for the last one decade and there is no update on its development status. Located on Sargodha Road, FDA City has not even got electricity connections yet, let alone offer plot possession to the respective owners. This project spans several hundred acres of land and for the last 10 years, there has hardly been a development convincing enough to attract investors. The average rate on land here is almost the same as it was 10 years ago and still no one is willing to invest in it.
The FDA thinks that exercising the power designated to it through Punjab Local Government Ordinance 2001 and Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976 Section 5/12 is a public service act; but who should be contacted to find out why the FDA-approved FDA City has been at a standstill for the past several years?
Same happened in Karachi!
Taiser town is an example.
Authorities and some newspapers and channels are crying over bahria where fast pace development is underway.
The mafia, and thugs have nothing better to do than to create bottlenecks, trap citizens, and slow pace of progress. They are all full of corrupt officials running after their commissions. They have become cancer to the progress of the country. Whatever they touch turns to dust.
True…..They are against Development of Faisalabad & pakistan….will take comission and everything will be Good…in shaa ALLAH…
Its Samuel William Din from Pakistan, Karachi. I am a insurance agent. I never paid income tax and not submitted e filing of tax returns. I borrowed 200000 rupees from my friends and invested in stock exchange. As my friends had sent me money by cross cheques and online transfer, it remained in my and my wife’s account for one year then we invested. Now FBR has sent notices to me and my wife. My wife is staff nurse in Aga Khan Hospital and pays her tax there. But she has not mentioned this investment in her returns.
Now we are in trouble. Please help us and save us from FBR as they are behind me and my wife.
