Peshawar: The Broghil Festival is scheduled to begin today (Friday) at the Broghil National Park in the Upper Chitral district, a news source reported. Organised by the Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP) and the Upper Chitral district administration, the festival will continue for three days.

As per officials, the organisers have planned a variety of activities for the festival. These include cricket, wrestling, horse polo, donkey polo, yak polo, football, marathon race, buzkashi, tug-of-war, music, and many other traditional games.
Moreover, the officials concerned revealed that the yak polo, yak race, traditional music, food shows, and fireworks would be the main features at the event.
Provincial Senior Minister for Sports & Tourism Atif Khan had directed his department to extend its support to the Upper Chitral district administration for finalising proper arrangements for this festival in order to highlight the ancient and unique ‘Wakhi’ culture.
Meanwhile, TCKP Managing Director (MD) Junaid Khan said that they had finalised the arrangements for the festival. He added that they expected a large a number of tourists at the event.

The MD explained that they had taken measures to attract more tourists and visitors towards this region of KP. For this purpose, the departments concerned have set up a tent village in Broghil that will facilitate the tourists at the festival. He added that the authorities concerned were exploring opportunities for developing adventure tourism activities in Upper Chitral.
