Islamabad: British Airways on Monday announced its decision to resume flight operations for the capital city starting August, a news source reported. The flight operations had remained suspended for four months due to the global coronavirus situation.

The British Airways management has written a letter to the Islamabad Airport manager seeking details of safety arrangements ahead of resuming flights to ensure safe landing its planes. It requested the local airport to ensure that fix bridges connected with the planes were safe to use.
The British airline will operate three flights a week from Islamabad. It had previously resumed its flight operations in Pakistan after a gap of 10 years in June 2019. In this regard, the operations were restarted with the landing of the BAW-261 at the Islamabad International Airport from Heathrow.

Minister for Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan, Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Overseas Pakistanis Zulfiqar Hussain Bukhari and Advisor to PM on Commerce Abdul Razak Dawood had welcomed the passengers arriving on the arrival of first flight to Islamabad after a decade.
