Islamabad: The Overseas Investors Chamber of Commerce & Industry (OICCI) has demanded the government to bring the percentage of General Sales Tax down to 13%, reported a news source. The demands were put forth by OICCI President Bruno Olierhoek in a press conference held earlier this week.
Talking to the media, Olierhoek said the OICCI has shared 10 comprehensive suggestions with the government on budget 2018-19. He also reminded the government of its promise to bring down the Super Tax down by 3-4%. Furthermore, Olierhoek stressed that tax related matters between the provinces and the Federal Board of Revenue should be sorted out on time.
Talking about the current investment trends, he recommended that the authorities concerned should seriously look into why Pakistan’s GDP didn’t increase despite such heavy investment made by China in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
