Karachi: Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali Shah disclosed that the Sindh government has decided to link Khairpur Nathan Shah to Kandiaro through a bridge on River Indus, according to news sources.

As per the details, the bridge will improve the flow of traffic between the two cities and surrounding areas and reduce travel time. During the 34th Public-Private Partnership meeting, the minister stated that the Works & Services Department has already worked out a detailed plan for the construction of the said bridge.

The attendees were informed that it will start at the Indus Highway, near Khairpur Nathan Shah at Sita Village and terminate at Kamal Dero in Kandiaro on the National Highway (N-5). The total length of the bridge and roads will be 25-kilometre, excluding the roads from N-5 and N-55. The bridge will be two-kilometre-long while the link road on Khairpur Nathan Shah side will be 11.5-kilometre long. The link road on the Kandiaro side will be 11.50-kilometre-long, excluding the approach road from N5 to Kamal Dero.
