Islamabad: The Ministry of Climate Change has sent botanical and zoological garden’s PC-1 for preparation to the allocated consultant, reported a news source. For the PKR 1.38 billion project, the concept paper has already been approved by Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.
According to details, the garden will span over 725 acres of land in Bani Gala and will have a connected road network. The facility will also have offices, rooms, enclosures for animals, laboratories, a research centre and shops, which will cost PKR 525 million. For the road network, the construction cost is estimated at PKR 100 million. PKR 300 million will be spent on purchasing animals and the commisioning of sculptures of extinct animals.
Other expenses include PKR 125 million for plantation etc., PKR 60 million for constructing track, footpaths and parking area, PKR 50 million on construction of a pond, retaining and brick walls, and PKR 120 million for drainage, water supply and sewerage system. The consultancy charges and expenses on monitoring the construction process will cost another PKR 100 million.
