Quetta: On 19th February 2018, the Balochistan Government declared Bostan Industrial Estate (BIE) as an economic zone, labelling it as an integral part of the Western route of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), according to a news source.
This decision was taken in a meeting attended by all high-level officials, and headed by Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo. The meeting was briefed that BIE, constructed on 1,000 acres of land, would have basic infrastructure completed on 200 acres. It further added that this would include levelling of land, construction of roads, and supply of water and electricity. Work on these would start soon, and subsequently the remaining 800 acres would be provided with the same facilities as well.
Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo said that the entire Balochistan would benefit from this by way of increased employment opportunities and industrial development.
