Lahore: Board of Revenue (BoR) Senior Member Babar Hayat Tarar has shared that the revenue system of Punjab has been revamped and modernised through the establishment of 8,000 Rural Revenue Centres (Dhai Markaz Malls), digital masawi, digital girdawari, and much more, according to a news story published on April 22.

The BoR senior member disclosed it at the inauguration of the district emergency operation centre at the Deputy Commissioner (DC) office in Lahore. Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue (ADCR) Tauqeer Ilyas Cheema, Deputy Commissioner Umer Sher Chattha, and other officers were present at the ceremony.
As per the details, the revenue system was modernised to provide better services, which included the setting up of 8,000 Rural Revenue Centres, digital red book, digital masawi, digital agriculture production, digital girdawari, and digitisation of all roznamchas. In addition to this, an e-stamping and white paper issuance system were introduced.
Reportedly, emergency operation centres have been operationalised in 36 districts all over the province to monitor and give feedback to the district administration for improving the governance system. The BoR member informed that these centres were established in the offices of the deputy commissioner and are equipped with a media wall, biometric machines, computers, Wi-Fi routers, the latest video wall, conference video and audio calling, generators, and other facilities.

Moreover, the 8,000 Dhai Markaz Malls, located at Patwar circle level, were connected to the emergency centres in order to offer digitised revenue services at the village level. It was mentioned that an effective mechanism has been drafted to improve the governance system and provide government services at the doorstep. The BoR senior member stated that the emergency centres will monitor Ramazan bazaars, emergency situations, smog, and all other related matters.
