Lahore: The Punjab government and the Board of Revenue (BOR) have announced their intent to hold a ‘khidmet kachehri’ of the tehsil officials concerned on a monthly basis to resolve the citizens’ issues, according to a news report published on September 30.

Additionally, the kachehri (or open court, as it colloquially known) will be attended by the deputy commissioner, district collectors, additional deputy commissioners, assistant commissioners, tehsildars, sub-registrars, qanoongos, patwaris, and the land record authority’s staff.

The open court will be held on the first working day of each month and is meant to provide the public with the opportunity to have their issues resolved – under a single roof. Moreover, the kachehri will be held between 10 AM and 3 PM. Citizens can visit their nearest tehsil office for the resolution of their issues.
The issues can include the following among other revenue-related matters:
- Correction of records
- Issuance of fard-e-malkiat
- Transfers
- Registry documents
- Income certificate
- Issuance of domicile
