Lahore: The Board of Revenue (BoR) Punjab has approved the digitisation of the e-stamp paper system, as reported on August 26.

As per details, this decision was made during a full board meeting chaired by Senior Member BoR, Nabeel Javed, on Friday. The move aims to streamline the e-stamp paper process and enhance overall efficiency. The meeting, attended by high-ranking officials including Member Colonies Malik Abdul Waheed and Chief Settlement Commissioner Khalid Saleem, saw the approval of 14 agenda items. Among these was the digitisation initiative, which is expected to reduce paperwork and minimise fraud.
As part of the modernisation efforts, a committee will assess the extension of lease periods for government land assigned to agricultural graduates. This committee is tasked with providing recommendations on lease policy within the next two weeks.

Additionally, the meeting addressed improvements in the BoR’s tax department to boost tax collection efficiency and enhance transparency in managing government lands. The board has also approved upgrades to the internal audit system to ensure thorough auditing of commercial and agricultural properties, and to recover dues from illegal occupants. Senior Member Nabeel Javed emphasized the importance of maintaining transparency throughout the auction and leasing processes of government lands. He directed board members to ensure that all relevant information is made available online, and discussed the proposal to transition to a fully digital, paperless registration system.
