Lahore: Senior Member Punjab Board of Revenue (BoR) has provided his approval to the recruitment of 4,500 new patwaris for the province, according to a news report published on March 15.

The BoR has appointed Assistant Commissioners to govern the selection committee. The committee will also include three officials as members. The district commissioner concerned will issue directives regarding advertising of vacant positions for patwaris. The eligibility criteria includes Intermediate in Computer Sciences (ICS), short hand typing and computer education. BoR has approved the selection based on quotas in 36 districts – which will also involve minorities.

Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar held a meeting at his office to review the progress of BoR. The meeting was appraised that facilities of land mutation and fard are being provided in different villages as new 107 rural revenue centres have been initiated by the board.
The CM issued directives to make 700 more such centres functional by the end of this month and a total of 8,000 centres to be operationalized in Punjab by year end. The CM also revealed that a one window facility has been launched by BoR and this facility will be extended to the district and tehsil levels.
