Islamabad: The Board of Investment (BOI) on Wednesday assured the Parliamentary Committee on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) that it was in the process of resolving the issues faced by the Special Economic Zones (SEZs) – in a bid to create an encouraging environment for attracting additional Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) to the country, according to news sources.

BOI Federal Secretary Omer Rasool appraised the committee meeting that the board is working in tandem with the CPEC authority to resolve any outstanding issues hindering the SEZs’ development on a priority basis. The said meeting was chaired by Member of National Assembly (MNA) Sher Ali Arbab.

Additionally, the meeting also discussed the issues regarding power and gas supply to the Rashakai and Dhabeji SEZs. Secretary Power Division Irfan Ali assured the meeting that these issues will be resolved in a month.
