Karachi: Sindh Chief Secretary Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah on Tuesday issued an announcement that states the formulation of a ten-member Provincial Coordination & Implementation Committee (PCIC) to oversee the implementation of the PKR 1.1 trillion special package for the city’s development, according to news sources.

Reportedly, Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali Shah will be heading the committee which also has the provincial chief secretary as a member. Additionally, Sindh Planning & Development Department Board Chairman Muhammad Waseem will act as the committee’s secretary.
It was informed that the PCIC’s term of reference (TOR) includes the planning of the development projects to be implemented by the relevant provincial authorities. It will also serve as an impediment-resolving forum for coordination among the stakeholders involved in the implementation of the ‘Karachi transformation plan’. The committee would maintain records, ensure timely completions, make adjustments and take measures to ensure diligence and quality control for the initiative.

Furthermore, the notification quoted the chief secretary as calling on all the relevant agencies and departments to immediately nominate their representatives for the PCIC, and directed the officials concerned to assist the committee as needed.
