Islamabad: The Board of Approvals (BOA) for Special Economic Zones (SEZs) on Wednesday provided its formal approval to the establishment of three new zones in the country, according to news sources.

The said meeting was presided over by Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan and as per the official announcement released from the premier’s office, following are the newly-approved SEZs:
- National Science & Technology Park in Islamabad
- JW-SEZ China-Pakistan SEZ Raiwind in Punjab
- Dhabeji SEZ in Sindh
This was the sixth meeting of BOA and was attended by all chief ministers through virtual mediums. During the said meeting, various incentives available for developers, co-developers and zone enterprises in the said projects were discussed. It was decided that the consultation on Sale of Plot Regulations, 2020, and SEZ Zone Enterprise Admission would be completed and presented at the next meeting.

Moreover, the prime minister directed the officials concerned to prioritise the provision of basic utilities like gas and power to these SEZs. He also sought a report on the availability of required facilities at the existing economic zones.
