Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has submitted proposals for the Blue and Purple Line Train Projects to the Punjab government for approval, according to news sources. The preparation of PC-1 for these large-scale projects will commence upon the Punjab government’s approval.
According to documents, a comprehensive update on the cost and layout of the Blue and Purple Line projects was presented to Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, and her Cabinet. The projects are estimated to cost PKR 14.5 trillion.

The Purple Line Metro Train project, with an estimated cost of approximately 577 billion rupees, is designed to cover a distance of 16 kilometers between the airport and Bhati Chowk, spanning about 16 stations. It is anticipated that around 250,000 citizens will utilize this route daily.
Meanwhile, the Blue Line Train Project, estimated at around 872 billion rupees, will extend over 27 kilometers from Valencia Town to Babu Sabu Interchange, connecting 28 stations. This extensive route is expected to serve the daily commute of approximately 400,000 citizens.
