Karachi: Work on the Blue Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project has been delayed and development is expected to begin next year, a news source reported. The project is expected to cost PKR 15 billion.
According to details, in the first phase of the project, 75 buses will be operated on a route of 22 kilometres. The Blue Line BRT will be operated from Daud Chorangi, Landhi to Saddar Regal Chowk.
The project is being developed through public-private partnership. As a result, National Logistics Cell (NLC), along with large companies from China and Dubai, has submitted technical evaluation reports for the project. These were under scrutiny when the previous government’s term ended. The work will begin after the new government takes over.
