Lahore: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has given the city administration a deadline to remove the billboard campaigns in the city promoting unapproved housing projects, according to news published on July 14. The LHC has ordered the removal of billboards promoting unauthorized residential schemes within a week.

The order was given by LHC Justice Shahid Jamil, while he was presiding over a petition that cited that the billboards advertising illegal and unregistered housing schemes cause unaware citizens to invest in such projects. He stated that such investment results in significant financial losses to the property buyers.

After listening to arguments, the court ordered the removal of outdoor advertisements in Lahore. During the court proceeding, Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Director General Omar Jahangir informed that the authority has the right to remove these promotional boards. Upon this confirmation, the court has given the deadline of a week to remove such billboards within the city.
