The committee recommended that all the bills should be passed by the National Assembly.
The women’s property rights bill is aimed at helping women to get their due share of property ownership. It will provide women effective and speedy mechanisms to protect and secure their rights of property ownership.
The bill will also allow women facing issues with ownership rights at the hands of anyone to file a complaint with the ombudsperson, in the case she faces issues in courts after complaints. The relevant deputy commissioner will then submit a compliance report within seven days of the ombudsperson’s decision.
