Karachi: A bill to incorporate the Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR) system into civil and commercial laws will be tabled in the upcoming session of Sindh Assembly, according to a news report. This will allow people to resolve matters outside the court in order to lessen the burden on the province’s courts.
The draft for the bill has been approved by the Sindh Minister for Law Ziaul Hassan Lanjar and will be tabled in the session beginning from February 25. The law minister was quoted as saying that the ADR system has been in in practice in many other countries to provide timely justice to people, particularly in civil cases that should not need to be brought before regular courts. He also added that the cases settled under the ADR system will be monitored by district and sessions judges and magistrates on a regular basis.
