Lahore: A bill has been moved in California State Assembly to declare California and Punjab as sister provinces, according to media reports. The bill was introduced during the Governor of Punjab Chaudhry Sarwar’s, official visit to the California State Assembly.

The governor met the Speaker of the California State Legislature, as well as other leaders and members of the assembly, during his visit. The governor was accompanied by Democrat member Asif Mahmood and Consul General in Los Angeles Abdul Jabbar.
Mr Sarwar stated that there are vast opportunities for Punjab and California to collaborate in the fields of education, health, agriculture, and technology.

Furthermore, Chaudhry Sarwar expressed his gratitude for the California State Assembly’s decision and stated that the two provinces will learn from each other’s experiences. He further added that this measure will usher in a new age of prosperity and economic growth for Punjab.
