Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s (PTI) official Twitter account has announced Bill Gates’ interest to invest in Pakistan, a news source reported. Gates expressed himself as such in a letter addressed to Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan. His core interest lies in investing within the country’s IT and health sectors.
The letter was delivered to the Prime Minister by Dr Christopher Elias. Dr Elias is the President of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundations Global Development Division. Accompanying Director General World Health Organisation (WHO) Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreye, he met with the PM in Islamabad.
In the meeting asserted, the PM asserted Pakistan’s commitment towards tackling its national polio crisis. He hoped WHO will continue working as a reliable partner for improvement in Pakistan’s healthcare sector.
Dr Ghebreye said that WHO has recently increased its focus on public health. The transnational organisation now puts greater emphasis on improving people’s access to health-related information.
