Lahore: The Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) received five bids from joint ventures for the construction of Diamer-Bhasha Dam, according to a news report. Wapda has also decided to establish its own consultant group by December this year to facilitate the initial commencement and completion of the civil and other works on fast track.
While talking to media, a senior Wapda official said that they have received pre-qualification bids from five joint ventures by international and local companies. The process to evaluate bids on the basis of technical and financial parameters will take about three to four months. The official also said that 90% of land acquisition work has been completed, and so civil work will also be completed within a short span of time.
A Wapda spokesperson has said that prequalification bids for the project would be evaluated in accordance with the bid documents as per the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PRRA) and the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC).
