Lahore: The Punjab Government has delayed the bidding process for Quaid-e-Azam Solar Power (Private) Limited (QASPL), according to a news report. These new dates will be communicated to pre-qualified bidders later on.
In a recent communication with these pre-qualified bidders, the Punjab Privatisation board (PPB) has stated that the new submission date will be announced soon. Experts have advised the PPB to delay asking for deposits until the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) clears the project for investors. Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Saqib Nisar has also taken notice of this project and asked for all details regarding the solar plant’s costs, production, expenditures etc. The PPB approved the privatisation of a 100MW portion of the QASPL owned by the Punjab Government in July 2017, but because of irregularities, has delayed the bidding process.
