Lahore: The Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif inaugurated the Operational Combined Cycle of 1,180 MW Bhikki Power Plant on 19th May 2018, according to a news report. The power plant is gas-fired and its CoD (Commercial Operation Date) was scheduled for December 2017, but was missed thrice because of various issues during tests.
While inaugurating, the CM Shahbaz said that Haveli Bahadur Shah is another project that has been launched, and these two are contributing 3,600 MW to the national grid. He added that because of these projects, there won’t be any load shedding problems in the country.
