Quetta: The Balochistan High Court (BHC) has directed the district authorities to take action against encroachments in Quetta, a news source reported.

While hearing a petition on traffic issues and excessive encroachments in the city, a divisional bench of BHC ordered the authorities concerned to demolish encroachments and remove security barriers erected on various roads.
The two-judge bench of Justice Jamal Mandokhail and Justice Rozi Khan Barech said that this initiative will help streamline the traffic flow.
The counsel, on behalf of the petitioner(s), stated that the residents of Quetta continue to face problems due to encroachments. They added that the administration should take action to provide them with relief.

The BHC bench then directed the authorities to initiate an operation against these encroachments, and remove unnecessary security barriers from Sariab Road, Airport Road, and Almo Chowk. The bench has also asked for a report to be submitted to the court within two weeks.
