Lahore: The construction of Bhasha Dam will be completed by National Engineering Services of Pakistan (NESPAK), reported a news source. The contract details between NESPAK and Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) has been finalised. According to the contract, NESPAK will provide consultancy services, the report on which will be completed within six months.

The Diamer-Bhasha Dam will be constructed over the Sindh River. The initial work is already underway, while the dam’s engineering design and environmental restoration had been completed in 2008. NESPAK is reputed for being the only company to have completed the most dams and hydropower projects in twelve countries across the globe.

The company has finished 207 dams and hydropower projects in Pakistan, Africa, and the Middle East to date. These include Mangla Dam, Mirani Dam, Attabad Land Sliding Dam, Tarbela Hydropower project, Neelum-Jehlum Hydro-electric Project, and many more in Pakistan. Bakshabad Dam in Afghanistan is also a successful project of NESPAK.
