Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Sunday (December 25) announced that over 50% of the development work on the Bhara Kahu bypass has been completed, according to news sources.

As per CDA’s Twitter handle, the development work on the Bhara Kahu bypass is halfway complete and progressing at full pace. The road infrastructure project is aimed at reducing pollution and traffic congestion in the capital city. It will also facilitate the tourists headed towards Murree.
Moreover, CDA Chairman Captain (retired) Muhammad Usman Younis also visited the project site. He was accompanied by Member Engineering Syed Munawar Shah. After the visit, the CDA chairman instructed the engineering wing to complete the project at the earliest.

It was highlighted the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif instructed the project to be completed by February 10, 2023, while inaugurating it in September. However, an official remarked that due to the large scope of the development required, the project might not be completed till April 2023.
It is important to note that the Bhara Kahu bypass is being developed with PKR 6.5 billion and starts from Malpur and crosses Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU)’s land.
