Islamabad: With Islamabad International Airport becoming functional soon, Benazir Bhutto Airport will be used for VIP movement only, reported a news source. Deciding the future of this transit facility, Aviation Division has agreed to hand over the facility to Pakistan Air Force, Pakistan Army Aviation and Civil Aviation Authority.
The runway of Benazir Airport will be controlled by the Noor Khan Airbase, while the decision to allow Qasim Airbase to manage Delta Taxi and airplane parking is under consideration. The news report further states that the airport terminal and its building will be handed over to Civil Aviation Authority.
According to sources, Army Aviation has asked for control of the airplane parking area of Benazir Bhutto Airport.
