Lahore: Belgian Commercial Attache Abid Muhammad Hussain on Wednesday (March 16) disclosed that Belgian companies are keen to invest in the Ravi City project, during a telephonic meeting with Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) CEO Imran Amin, according to media reports.

During the telephonic meeting held at the RDA head office, the delegation was briefed on the Ravi Riverfront Urban Development Project (RRUDP) in detail. According to Belgian Commercial Attache, several Belgian companies have already invested in different projects across the country. He added that the Belgian firm has made an investment in the textile sector in Lahore along with EUR 20 million investment in a hygienic food project in Karachi.

According to RUDA CEO Amin, 10,000 megawatts (MW) electricity is required for Ravi City and initially, 2,000 MW must be generated. He added that the authority wants to explore options for cheap power generation. The CEO further added that there is a huge investment opportunity in the smart city, IT sector, and industrial zone.
