Faisalabad: Faisalabad Divisional Commissioner Mehmood Javaid Bhatti has instructed the officers concerned to make permanent arrangements for improving traffic flow on the Canal Expressway and beautify it, reported a news source. He issued the directives while he paid a visit to the site and inspected the traffic situation at various intersections of the Canal Expressway.

Parks and Horticulture Chairman Latif Nazar and Director General Mian Asif, Faisalabad Development Authority Director General Amir Aziz, Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Asif Zafar Cheema, and Faisalabad Municipal Corporation CEO Sardar Naseer accompanied the commissioner.

Commissioner Bhatti instructed the concerned officers to improve the infrastructural design of various intersections in the city according to the principles of efficient traffic engineering. He particularly mentioned the names of the intersections that needed improvement in terms of traffic management; Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Underpass, Abu Anees Hazrat Sufi Muhammad Barkat Ali Underpass and People’s Colony service roads.

The commissioner also directed the Parks and Horticulture Authority to focus on the beautification of the Canal Expressway. In addition, he instructed the CTO to ensure that traffic flows smoothly in all other parts of the city. He also issued orders to remove encroachments that cause hurdles in traffic flow.
