Quetta: The Balochistan Coastal Development Authority (BCDA) announced on Saturday (January 14) that it is working on a master plan for the province’s 750-kilometre-long Balochistan coastal region belt for comprehensive tourism, news sources reported.

According to sources, the new master plan calls for the construction of eco-tourism resorts, beach parks, floating jetties, and rest areas is in full swing to cater to the needs of local and foreign tourists visiting the area’s beautiful coastal lines. These new tourist resorts will be built along Balochistan coastal region of Kund Malir, Gadani, Aurmara, Jiwani, Gwadar, and Kalmat some of which are in the final stages, with over 90% of development work completed. So far, the Balochistan government has spent PKR 250 million on the establishment of five beach parks alongside the coastal belt.

A government spokesperson said that the government is working to develop its coastal areas to facilitate tourists and travellers in order to boost the blue economy. The provincial government has formulated BCDA to regulate commercial activities and ensure modern facilities in the area. To ensure the safety of the tourists in coastal resorts, the government has posted 215 lifeguards.
