Peshawar: Peshawar District Nazim Muhammad Asim Khan has instructed the Town-1 Building Control Authority (BCA) to not approve maps for commercial and residential projects in specific areas, reported a news source. These include projects planned on property owned by Evacuee Trust Board, in City Wall and on archaeological sites.

District Nazim Khan issued these orders while chairing a meeting in Town-1 BCA. BCA Chief Building Inspector Engineer Shehzad Ahmed and other important officials attended the meeting.

The meeting members also scrutinised applications submitted for map approvals for various projects. Khan approved maps for commercial and residential projects in following areas:
- Sarki Gate
- Green Market
- Kabuli Gate
- Ittehad Colony
- Mohala Khudada
- Khushal Bazar
- Ishrat Cinema Road Gulbahar
- City Mall Godam
- Church Road
- Akhtarabad City Circular Road
- Ittehad Colony Ring Road
Khan also said that maps of wedding halls without having 100% of its covered area as parking lots will not be approved. For the commercial plazas, the parking space has to be 23% of the its covered area. The rules have been specified in by the BCA. District Nazim also indicated of launching crackdown against plaza owners not using the underground parking floors for the purpose.
