Quetta: Barrick Gold Corporation Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mark Bristow has announced that the firm has officially launched work on the Reko Diq project in Balochistan, according to news sources.

The ceremony, which was held at the Chief Minister’s secretariat, was attended by government officials, members of the Balochistan Assembly, and opposition leaders. The CEO Barrick Gold announced that the company has also established a project office in Quetta and has hired a team of experts, including local workers.
Balochistan Chief Minister (CM) Mir Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo addressed the ceremony and noted that the presence of opposition members at the ceremony was a sign that the government and opposition are in agreement on the profitability of the project. He also stated that the project will be a blessing for Balochistan and Pakistan.

The CEO emphasized the importance of involving the local community in the project and pledged to invest in the social sector and uplift the local community.
