Islamabad: The heads of State Bank, Habib Bank, National Bank, Allied Bank, Meezan Bank, Bank Al Habib and Bank of Punjab on Thursday briefed Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan regarding home financing solutions being provided by said financial institutions, a news source reported.

The PM was chairing a weekly meeting of the National Coordination Committee for Housing, Construction and Development. During the session, the PM asked the banks concerned to relax lending criteria; adding that loans should be disbursed to poor without hurting their self-esteem.
On the occasion, the SBP governor informed the PM that separate desks had been established at banks for those looking seeking home loans. He added that the banks will provide loans under both Islamic and traditional banking system.

The heads of banks also assured the PM of their cooperation on promotion of the construction sector. They also praised the premier and his economic team for facilitating the business community including the banks during the coronavirus pandemic.
