Sargodha: Due to the decision taken to temporarily shut town down kilns operating on old technology for the purpose of controlling smog in the province, the kiln owners have increase the rates of bricks, reported a news source. This has also accounted for a rise in construction cost.
The market rate of awwal grade brick has increased by PKR 3,000 per 1,000 bricks. The sudden and massive rise in rates has also affected the pace of development work at active construction site. Further rise in rates is expected due value of dollar increasing against Pakistani rupee.
Those related to construction sector have requested the government to take action against the kiln owners responsible for increasing the rates.
