Islamabad: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Hamza Shafqaat has placed a ban on any form of advertisement of housing schemes and societies – a news source reported.
According to a notification, the developers of such housing schemes – by placing advertisements – lure the citizens into giving money. It said that such schemes have either no land at all or invite membership in excess of the land held by them.

The capital administration has warned citizens against engaging with the schemes in question as such practices often result in fraud, forgery and exploitation, disputes, and law and order issues.
The order, which is to be immediately enforced, will remain in place for a period of two months. The ban is a continuation of the order placed under Section 144 on November 15 last year.
The said order prohibits use of loudspeakers and fireworks, wall chalking, and public and religious gatherings in the capital city. The display of banners fuelling hate and sectarianism has also been banned.
