Quetta: Officials on Wednesday stated that the Hub Special Economic Zone (SEZ) is expected to create 90,000 jobs, a news source reported. These jobs will include 15,000 direct jobs and 75,000 indirect jobs across 211 industrial units.

The Central Development Working Party Working Party (CDWP) recently approved the project. In line with the government’s policy, Hub SEZ provides a favourable environment for the industrial sector to introduce internationally competitive products.
According to details revealed, the Hub SEZ also features a design that provides all the basic facilities for supporting the potential investors. The officials said that the project would also improve the socio-economic development in the province.

The Hub SEZ project would include the construction of 211 industrial plots over 406 acres of land. It would also have warehousing plots, weighbridge, mosques, fuel dispensing station, car parking areas, wastewater treatment plants, and more.
The CDWP has approved the project at a cost of PKR 2.287 billion out of which the provincial government would provide funds worth PKR 2 billion.
