Islamabad: The provincial Chief Minister (CM) Jam Kamal Khan stated on Monday that his government would connect 1,500 Balochistan heritage sites with the province’s road network, a news source reported. He added that the construction work on roads would be completed in Financial Year (FY) 2020-21 to promote tourism in Balochistan.

The CM stated that the provincial government planned to renovate Balochistan heritage sites and monuments in order to attract more tourists. He added that the authorities concerned would organise festivals and cultural events next year in a bid to promote arts in the province. He revealed that provincial executive would establish art parks, galleries, and academies with an aim to encourage the diverse and rich culture of Balochistan.
CM Kamal further stated that the provincial government had introduced a special financial package to support artists. He added that apart from encouraging the artists’ efforts for acquainting the public with Balochistan’s culture, heritage, and history, the government would also promote the trend of healthy competitions among young artists – helping them exhibit their works and talents.

The CM reminded that Balochistan was home to ancient cultures like the Mehrgarh Civilisation.
