Islamabad: The Balochistan government has decided to construct five tourist resorts along the province’s coastal areas, a news source reported. The authorities concerned plan to promote the picturesque coastal areas of the province as part of the provincial government’s tourism development endeavours.

The executive recently allocated PKR 150 million for making revisions to the master plan of the coastal areas and for developing tourist resorts in Kund Malir, Aurmara, Jioni, Gadani, and Kalmat.
Moreover, it has allocated PKR 1.467 billion for revamping and promoting the fisheries sector to boost the revenue generation. Out of the said amount, PKR 739 million would be utilised to pay the expenditures of the Fisheries Department.

To ensure the welfare of the fishermen community in the area, the provincial government would also set up a Fishermen Cooperatives Society. Similarly, it has fixed a quota for the fishermen in the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP).
