Quetta: The government of Balochistan on Tuesday announced its decision to computerise public property records in a bid to expand the province’s property tax net coverage, according to news sources. To this effect, it plans to implement a pilot project in Quetta with the Balochistan University of Information Technology and Management Sciences’ assistance.

The cabinet reached this decision at its recent meeting that was chaired by Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani.
Moreover, the province will fill around 58 available positions of naib tehsildar through the Public Service Commission test to ensure merited recruitments. The cabinet also approved the installation of solar power panels in the rural areas of Balochistan – under the Roshan Balochistan Programme.

Additionally, the meeting declared the provincial chief secretary an authority to approve the emergency clause of the Balochistan Public Procurement Regulatory Authority. The cabinet directing the Information Technology (IT) Department to submit a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the internal audit unit, internal audit charter and the e-filing system in a bid to audit government departments through the financial authorities.
