Quetta: Balochistan Chief Minister (CM) Jam Kamal Khan Alyani has stated that the provincial government would soon announce relief measures for industries and reduce other taxes in light of the COVID-19 situation, according to a news source.
He made these statements while speaking to reporters on Tuesday, and revealed that the government would incentivize industries by exempting service taxes and reducing other taxes – in an attempt to help industries continue their production activity.

In addition, Alyani stated that the Balochistan government was cognizant of the difficulties faced by people who had lost their jobs during this outbreak. He stated that the provincial executive would announce a relief package for these individuals and low-income segments of the society within a week. The CM also revealed that there would be a ration distribution system created in consultation with various social welfare organizations, so that deserving people do not go hungry.

Additionally, the government had also acquired 250,000 bags of wheat to distribute to all the districts, particularly in the Makran and Rakhshan divisions. This is because food shortages are expected there due to the closure of the Iran border.
