Quetta: The Planning and Development Department of Balochistan has approved PKR 40 billion to facilitate the completion of ongoing and new development schemes, a news source reported. The decision came during a meeting, presided over by Chief Minister (CM) Jam Kamal Khan, on Monday to review the implementation of upcoming projects in the province.

The participants discussed projects pertaining to the planning & development, education, sports, urban planning & development, health, youth affair and fisheries sectors – as well as 77 schemes from other departments. There are plans to establish facilities pertaining to rural health centres extensions, sport complexes, new schools, Green Boat Schemes, Youth Support Programmes, and aqua tourism in the province.

Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development Abdul Rehman Buzdar informed members of the meeting that 344 development projects would be completed by end of the current fiscal year. The remaining 210 will be completed within their stipulated time fame as well. The CM said that no delay in funding and development work would be tolerated by the government.
