Islamabad: The Balochistan government has decided to digitise the land revenue information system in an attempt to increase its revenue, a news source reported. This initiative is expected to bring transparency to the system and facilitate the stakeholders.

A government official, during a press briefing held on Sunday, said that the authorities concerned planned to develop the said system for the provincial excise and taxation department; which wants to adopt efficient methods for increasing real estate tax collection.
In addition to computerising the land revenue system, the Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department has decided to issue computerised number plates for vehicles in the province.

As per reports, the executive also intends to digitise the transport sector – an initiative which will cost approximately PKR 70 million. This project is expected to increase the sector’s earnings from PKR 12 million to PKR 1.5 billion.
